Synergy One has been retained by a growing driven firm to find a SQL Server DBA.

Summary of qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server analyst (acting DBA preferred)
• 3+ years experience with RDBMS systems that support web-based applications
• 3+ years of experience with MS-SQL writing stored procedures and database schema design
• Experience and knowledge of Data Adapters
• Experience and knowledge of multiple record sets from a database call.
• Experience and knowledge of clustered indexes
• Experience and knowledge of the use of delegates
• Experience with relational database design architecture and programming
• Software specification development, testing and good documentation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Web Services
• Experience with Remote administration a plus
• Good verbal/communication skills
• Documentation experience
• Microsoft Certifications such as MCDBA will be a plus
• 4 year degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience



Database Administrator

This is a permanent position with outstanding growth opportunities for a leading-Financial/insurance industry. The company is pre-IPO and has been growing over 30% year over year.

Your focus will be full implementation from a current Access database to SQL server 2005 databases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop complete solutions for a variety of business needs and challenges. The ability to communicate clearly with end-users, peers and management will be critical to the success of this role.

Experience and Aptitude:

• Develop and support database systems for a variety of software applications and systems that use various technologies including Microsoft .NET and MS-SQL Server
• Quickly learn business and manage end-user expectations and effectively manage time, resources, and deadlines
• Database performance tuning, configuration, optimization, installation of DBMS servers, test environments
• Drive quality into the company culture by contributing to internal initiatives
• Perform full life cycle applications development, enhancement, and maintenance assignments
• Participate and lead various lifecycle stages including requirements gathering; architecture specifications & design; application configuration; database design; programming; quality assurance; testing and implementation; and ongoing maintenance and support
• Work with IT counterparts and managers to employ analysis and design techniques including case analysis, object modeling and database/application schema design to ensure business goals
• Design and develop database architectures, write stored procedures, views, triggers using T/SQL
• Ensure successful production implementation and support
• Responsible for production support of various file and server database systems
• Apply best practices including change management, effective error handling and performance instrumentation

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 Years experience with RDBMS systems (MS-SQL, Access)
• Minimum of 3 Years experience with MS-SQL writing stored procedures and database schema design
• Minimum of 2 Years experience with RDBMS systems that support web-based applications
• Minimum of 5 Years experience with PC-based operating systems
• Minimum of 5 Years experience with Windows NT operating systems
• Microsoft Certifications preferred (MCSD/MCDBA etc.)
• 4 year degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience
