Tax Manager
Our client seeks an experienced Tax Manager for their NYC corporate office. The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of real estate partnership taxation and international taxation.
Location: NYC
Base Salary: 125k-135k p/ year
Bonus, Benefits, Stability, Career Advancement.
Responsibilities:
Understand the reporting requirements of the portfolio, address compliance issues in accordance with federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
Initiate and monitor the completion of the actual and projected reporting packages.
Review year end reporting packages.
Review federal, state, and local income tax returns, partnerships, REIT.
Review income tax projections.
Prepare/Review estimated tax payments, sales and use tax returns, commercial rent tax returns.
Review partnership agreements with specific attention to tax allocation provisions and other related tax provisions.
Model the tax implications of various business issues and transactions.
Review and analyze tax deferral strategies where appropriate and determine their feasibility to implement.
Coordinate with other internal teams and external advisors to assure the proper tax accounting treatment of business transactions.
Identify opportunities to maximize deductions including those that involve the implementation of cost studies to accelerate deductions.
Monitor and maintain timeliness of projected tax based reporting packages.
Work with international tax advisors.
Prepare/Review foreign and state withholding requirements as well as 1099’s on a portfolio wide basis.
Compile, maintain and organize investor information.
Requirements:
Minimum 6-8 years of relevant tax compliance/consulting experience.
Experience in the real estate industry.
Undergraduate degree required; MS in Accounting or Taxation preferred
Work effectively and efficiently irrespective of deadlines and deliverables
